Caregiver of the Month November 2017
We are so excited to honor Ann MacDonald with our Caregiver of the Month Award for November of 2017. In all honesty, this award is long overdue for Ann. Let me explain…
Ann called us a couple years ago when she worked for a competitor of ours. She did not feel her client was getting the proper care from that organization, so she took it upon herself to find another home care agency to take over, even though she knew she would lose hours and miss the client terribly. How completely unselfish of her (a benchmark of great caregivers)!
As it turns out, after she talked to Tracy in our office, and saw what a difference we were making for that client, she quit her old agency and came to work for us. Win Win!!
She proved herself once again earlier this year. Ann had told us that knee surgery was imminent, and just wanted to warn us that she would have to take some time off. But, she became so close to the client that she was working with, she later announced she would delay her surgery until she was no longer needed with this client. Wow, now that is client centric!
And most recently, Ann received a nice letter and gift card from one of our key referral partners who sent the client our way. We knew when we met with the client’s advocates that Ann would be the very best fit. We were able to piggy back Ann’s shifts to line up with the new client’s schedule, so Ann could go from one client to the next on the same days. Not surprisingly, the family advocates managing the client’s care are super happy with Ann’s professionalism, including her care and detailed written communication. It is the first time this referral partner took the time to recognize one of our caregiver’s outstanding work, and so it is time we do the same!
Please join me in congratulating Ann on her outstanding contribution toward taking care of our senior community here in west Michigan. Believe me, we are experiencing a severe shortage of really exceptional caregivers in west Michigan that help us deliver the highest quality care in our market. We are so blessed to be able to work with people like Ann who exemplify our high standards. THANK YOU, ANN!!
